Cala Mesquida

All the coves in Menorca are beautiful, we recommend Cala Mesquida, in Mahón. It is characterized by its tranquility, even in the busiest periods on the island, and for its easy access. You can access it by car and you will soon arrive to the sandy beach with crystalline waters and about 300 mts. long. This beach is surrounded by nature and close to the town.

It is an ideal beach for children to bathe, as boats cannot anchor near the coast. The space available for bathing is very large.

It is very comfortable, parking is nearby and free, it has a lifeguard service, and there is a beach bar at the entrance of the cove, and also restaurants nearby in the town.

If you like snorkeling, having rocky bottoms and quite deep, you will enjoy its landscape.

In the afternoon, you can enjoy the sunset over the town with a lovely natural light that you will fall in love with. We recommend going up the hill on the left of the beach to enjoy beautiful views of the beach and the defense tower built by the English. It takes only 10 minutes to be there.

You can end the beach day with lunch or dinner at the Cap Roig restaurant, which is 5 minutes away by car.

Faro de Cavallería

El Faro de Cavalleria is one of the most famous due its views of the sunset, especially in the summer months, its colors and tones make it worth seeing this spectacle.

It is easy to get there by car, through the road and park just a few meteres away, you can also find a bar with tables where you can have a drink shile enjoying the scenery.

It is the oldest lighthouse, built in 1857 to avoid the ammount of shipwrecks that occurred in that area in the 14th century. Children will love learning a little about its history and visiting the viewpoints in the area.

Visit the Naveta des Tudons

The famous historic tomb is the oldest fully preserved building in Europe, it was built around 1.000 B.C. Its name means ” The ship of the wood pigeons”.

The price of the visit is only €2 per person, but on Mondays admission is free. You can park without problems in the nearby car park, free of charge.

Finding it is easy, it is located at km 40 of the Me-1 road in Menorca between Ciudatella and Ferrerías, it is very well signposted.

Visit to the Lloc zoo in Menorca

Children will love this space where they can visit the animals, with museums and a paintball area. They will also see native animals of Menorca such as the Mallorcan sheep, the cow, Turkey and the Menorcan chicken and they will be able to feed the goats and touch the horses.

Visit the museums with exhibitions of antiquities and Menorcan geology and an exhibition on the sea is mandatory.

This space is prepared for family visits, with a restaurant and picnic area, where children play in the swing area.
