Between June 1st and September 30th, it is mandatory to obtain a prior authorization at formentera.eco before boarding your vehicle onto the ferry. Without a permit, fines can reach up to €1,000.

What is Formentera ECO?

It is the official vehicle access control system for the island, regulated by Law 7/2019 on environmental sustainability in Formentera. Its main goal is to limit the number of cars and motorbikes during high season to preserve the natural environment and ensure smoother traffic mobility.

The formentera.eco portal is already accepting applications for the entire 2026 season. The Island Council (Consell) recommends applying well in advance, especially for July and August.
